Meet Edwina

SOMETHING OLD,

SOMETHING NEW...

Who are you? What have you done? Where have you been? Where are you going?

These are probably some of the questions that are running through your head right now. And they’re good questions. I want you to feel completely comfortable on your wedding day, so it’s important to me that we get to know each other a little.

So what am I all about?

I love warm days, cold beer, and good food. I’m a passionate vegetarian, pasta fiend and fierce Monopoly player. I can boogie with the best of them, but some of my happiest moments are spent at home, eating lasagna and obsessing over a 1000-piece puzzle of cats.

As an introvert, I’m a natural observer –  I’ve always been comfortable behind a lens. I’m more of a listener than a talker, so I love meeting new people and hearing their stories. My family and friends are my world so I understand how important it is to capture those special moments with loved ones on your wedding day.

But what do I know?

I fell in love with photography from an early age. So making it official was the natural next step. I completed a Bachelor of Photography at RMIT and I’ve been focusing on all things photographic ever since.

Outside of Edwina Weddings, I work as a photographer at fashion house, Factory X (think Gorman, Dangerfield and Alannah Hill).  I also freelance on a range of different projects from flatlays for Melbourne Central to portrait campaigns for Skyn and Ansell.  Experience in fashion, advertising and editorial photography means I'm adaptable to all kinds of scenarios and lighting situations.

And how did I get into weddings?

My progression into weddings was largely motivated by my love for portraiture photography and natural light – it is definitely the area of my craft that moves me the most.

My skills in documentary photography are essential for catching those special candid moments at any wedding –  the best man fighting back tears, pop twirling nan on the dance floor, unbridled laughter, sheer joy. I’m there.

But I also love the tradition wrapped up in a wedding – the family photos, the cake – and I know how important it is to capture perfect shots of those moments throughout your day.

So what can I bring to your wedding? A little bit of something old, and a little bit of something new – in a photography sense anyway!

If you think we might get along, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d love to hear from you.
