Frequently Asked Questions:

What will we receive after the wedding?

Around eight weeks after the big day you will receive a link to your online gallery. Within the gallery will be approx. 600+ photos of your day that you can share with your friends and family. You can download these images in high res (for printing) and low res (for online).  You'll also have the option to mark photos as private before you send the gallery around.

If you choose the digital collection + album,  you will also receive a beautifully designed 10 x 10" hardcover album in the mail, twelve weeks after the wedding.

My wedding isn't in Melbourne. Do you do interstate or overseas weddings?

Yes! I love to travel! If your wedding is interstate or overseas, I would be thrilled to capture the day. I may need you to cover some travel expenses and possibly a night of accommodation or car hire depending on your requirements. Contact me with the details and I will send you a rough quote.

Do you charge a travel fee?

I will charge a travel fee if your wedding is more than 1.5 hours travel out of Melbourne.

How many hours will you shoot for?

I will be with you for nine hours on the day. You have freedom to choose when I start and finish but I find it's best for me to arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony for those pre-wedding moments i.e. bridesmaids in their matching gowns, hair and make up, details of your dress, flowers, etc  and then keeping me late into the night to catch all of the fun times, i.e. cutting the cake/ speeches/ dance floor antics. If you would like me to stay for longer, I charge  $300.00 per hour.

Is it just you shooting on the day or do you provide a second shooter?

Depending on the size of the wedding, I may bring an assistant or second shooter to ensure we don’t miss any important moments. This is included in the price and allows me to be in two places at one time!

Will you bring lots of equipment?

No. I like to work mainly with natural light and tend to keep my gear quite minimal so I can weave in and out of crowds with ease. I may use a small flash later in the night but will generally keep it natural.

What is a shot list? Do I need to provide one?

Some photographers ask for a list of specific photos the couple would like shot on the day. I won’t ask you for a shot list because I want to keep the shots as candid and natural as possible. The only thing I will ask is a running sheet of the day and a list of the family members that you’d like photos taken with (when we do the more formal family portraits). This will ensure that the family photos run as smoothly and quickly as possible and I don't miss any grandmas or favourite aunts!

When do we do family photos and couple shots?

I have found the best time for these photos is after the ceremony and before the reception. I won’t steal you away from your wedding for too long but please leave about an hour for these photos. The couple photos are best taken one - two hours before sunset so we can get that lovely afternoon light. We can discuss this in more detail at our meeting.

Will you be with us the whole time?

My assistant and I don’t want to bombard you on your day so we’ll occasionally stop for breaks and give you some time to breathe.

Is the focus just on us all day?

Of course we will primarily be focusing on you but we also think it’s important to capture your guests enjoying themselves, so we will give you space to breathe and make sure we circle the room and capture everyone.

Do we need to pose?

My style is natural and candid and I don’t like to make couples pose. You won’t be asked to smile in every photo or fake any moments. I will give you a little direction for your portraits and family photos but will mainly want you to be comfortable, natural and having fun!

Do you edit the photos?

I will edit your photos but I try to keep them as natural as possible. I just tweak the images with contrast, sharpening, etc. However if you have any special requests, I can do this for you.

When will we receive the photos?

If you have booked the digital photo collection only, you will receive your photos within eight weeks of your wedding.

For the digital photo collection and album, you will receive your photo gallery within eight weeks and album within twelve weeks of your wedding.

Can we hire you for a LGBTQI wedding?

Yes! I would love to be part of your special day.

Do we need to feed you on the day?

Yes please! Shooting a wedding builds a mighty hunger so a feed for myself (and my assistant) would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a smaller package for shorter weddings?

If you've got a smaller wedding planned or you've decided to elope, I can offer you an elopement package. Just get in touch and I'll send you a quote based on guest numbers, hours, etc.

.

Can we meet you before the day?

Of course! If you're based in Melbourne, we can catch up for drink at your local cafe or pub and talk all about your special day. If you live interstate, we can chat over skype.

Do we need to pay a deposit?

Once we have confirmed your booking, I will ask for a non-refundable deposit of $500.00.

When do we have to pay the whole amount?

The outstanding amount is due two weeks before the wedding date.

How do we book you?

Once you have decided we're a good match, send me an email and I will send you your contract and deposit info to secure your booking.

I have questions for you but they’re not listed here.

No worries. Please get in touch and I will answer any other questions.
